I recently 'notebooked' this poem from my archives, one of my early pieces written back when I first discovered the magical world of internet poetry. I can hardly believe that was almost a decade ago.
I dedicate this post to all my wonderful friends with 'steady arms', for the kind support you have given me all these years.
"to sit at the ocean's feet and listen to the blues" ... That sounds like a rockin' good time. I often wish music would come out of the clouds, and that different people would hear different styles, depending on their personal tastes.
ReplyDeleteWater, music, and color therapy are some of my favorite healers.
Thank you, friend, for your steady arm...
DeleteHow beautiful! That weariness can be so heavy — it's wonderful to have a comforting hand that would provide some support as we contemplate and get through our blues.
ReplyDeleteIt's always a pleasure to read your penmanship, Kerry! :-)
Thank you, Anmol. I am feeling very weary at present - it can be draining. But things will look up soon.
DeleteIt is impossible to believe those years have gone so fast. I miss the heady rush of those first years, am grateful for this poetic journey we have made. You were one of the first poets I found online, right after Poets United. I loved the name Skylover so much! Now, here we are, still tapping out features and prompts. LOL. I LOVE your Blue poem! Sigh.
ReplyDeleteYes, we have walked a long path together, Sherry. It's been an amazing journey.
DeleteA lovely collection of words, about "blues." The favorite color of most. I don't kno when I first read you Kerry, but it continues to be a pleasure, I woun't want to do without!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Annell.
DeleteSending you love, light and lots of cheer this Tuesday, Kerry 💖 this is a most stunning poem! 😊
ReplyDeleteSending love to you too.
DeleteThe blue skies always make me look with longing. I love the different blues of all the seasons. I hope you look up at the blue and become energized, maybe fly like a bird to the place of your dreams.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to be in your circles... I will have to work a bit before getting a decade.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you have captured it notebook format, and blue is a great place to be.
Glad to be in your circles too, Bjorn. I have learnt so much from you.
DeleteWhat a beautiful write.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you played with blue. I also love that the feelings that fed this poem can no longer be true. Because your hands, my friend, are full of ours. I, too, am grateful for fantastic friends with "steady arms" and ginormous hearts.
ReplyDeleteYes! How nice to know in hindsight that opening the door to the blogging world would enrich my intellectual life to such a degree through all the amazing people I have met.
DeleteAt the ocean's feet is the best place to heal... a decade of poetry blogging is so awesome..congratulations.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful poem. You have inspired me to improve my scrawl:)
ReplyDeleteSweetly sad like a breeze.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely poem, a short tale of one despondently wishing for consolation from a friend. A very nice start of Internet poetry publication for you. I remember mine, from this novice, about two doors on a his and hers outhouse building. A flop but my readers were kind.
ReplyDelete..
Wonderful poem! Blues by the ocean, very cool Kerry
ReplyDeletethe ocean here is grey today, but peeks thru with its blue eyes when so deems the sky. to distant friends ~
ReplyDeleteAlways friends ~
DeleteThe thing that strikes me is the need for something firm to hold on to. There's a solidity to friendships, even long distance ones.
ReplyDeleteThat has been my experience. I am grateful for it.
DeleteI love ‘the breasts of high head clouds offer no solace’, Kerry, and I would gladly join you sitting at the ocean’s feet, listening to the blues.
ReplyDeleteOne day, friend.
DeleteI am so thankful I found Real Toads and found you. I am so blessed to be in such company. I would be lost without poetry. It keeps the light on in my mind.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way, Susie. Can't let that light grow dim.
