Rommy Challenges us to Try Everything!
As it happens, I am trying something relatively new this October, in conjunction with the #inktober2019 fest on Instagram.. that is The American Sentence, Allen Ginsberg's answer to haiku (another form I never write). So in celebration of October, I am sharing my first American sentence of the month - of a planned 31!
I love this - what a great new experience..it shines
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteOh, Kerry his is exciting! Your drawing reminds me of a children's story-I must go figure it out. I can see an image with a fish and a ring, but can't place it. This is a stunning in both forms of ink!
ReplyDeleteThis is a grand exploration!
ReplyDeleteI love the charming image you created both with your words and drawing skills.
ReplyDeleteWow!!💖 This is incredibly penned, Kerry 😊
ReplyDeleteBoth wonderful, American sentence and illustration, Kerry! I agree with Jae, it shines! It’s liberating to try something new, isn’t it?
ReplyDeletebeautiful brevity. Salute!
ReplyDeleteI can see it in the words, in your drawing, and in my head. I love that the turbulent waters make me hear it, too.
ReplyDeleteBrief but beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI can just see you on deck in your yellow rain gear!
ReplyDeleteThis is super Kerry, thank you for sharing. American sentences are fun! Allen and his best “beat” buddies, William S. Burroughs, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Gary Snyder, Michael McClure, and Jack Kerouac were damned cool!
ReplyDeleteOh this is BEAUTIFUL!!!
ReplyDeleteLove the drawing as well as the poem.
ReplyDeleteI really like the drawing, and come to think of it, I have never tried an American Sentence, either.
ReplyDeleteI really love how you made your sentence into art...
ReplyDeleteProfound words to match an equally intriguing drawing. Love this American sentence!
