Brilliant Kerry!
ReplyDeleteEach of these has a special message to offer. I love how you explained 'trust' in the first sonnet. The love poem in Sonnet2 is endearing but by far my fav is Curvature... the last stanza is sublime.
Thank you, Viv. I'm glad each has a little something to impart.
DeleteWe have passed each other in the night, Kerry. I used to write all my poems in journals in longhand and did that for years. But at some point I let the keyboard take over. You must carry on for both of us! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shay. I will do. Join me anytime.

Very cool, esp the closing stanza of Curvature!
ReplyDeleteCool, thanks!
DeleteAh, the care and the heart and soul in your words just create this reading experience which is both evocative and awe-inspiring. I love your phrasing, your line-breaks, and your overall reflection and expression of love and desire. I love the second one in particular for it appealed to my own frame of mind. Beautiful writing, Kerry!
ReplyDeleteA good poem must appeal to the reader's frame of mind, even more so than the writer's. Thank you for your commentary.
DeleteMake love to my true name. Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI'm quite fond of that line myself. :-)
DeleteThese are beautiful. I especially love the not understanding how pollen makes honey, only knowing that it could.......and the closing lines of your first poem - stellar writing!
ReplyDeleteI do love a bee motif!
Delete"I hold nothing back
ReplyDeletefrom your mouth
or your hand's whispering."
Swoon.
"I am caramel." ... Perfect.
ReplyDelete"my heart beats the measure
ReplyDeleteas time slips away"
Gorgeous. Love the musical undertones.
Thank you for all the bits you highlighted.. so glad they appealed to you.
Delete"Make love to my true name"....what a gorgeous line. These are breathtaking Kerry! I love each one!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carrie
DeleteI love all three of these notebook poems, Kerry. I think my favourite is 'Curvature', especially the lines:
ReplyDelete‘…the curve of your spine I have felt
as I clung like a moon
heavy with reflected light’ –
beautiful!
I like that image too.. Thanks, Kim.
DeleteA glorious collection beautifully written.
ReplyDeleteHow kind of you to say!
DeleteBeautiful and very sensual. You write about love like none I have seen before. Well done.
ReplyDeleteThat is probably one of the best things anyone has ever said to me. Much appreciated.
Deletenot understanding how pollen becomes honey, only knowing that it could- especially love this Kerry. I love the handwritten pages..makes it all the more effective!
ReplyDeleteHandwriting is a vanishing art -- love poetry presented thus is more naked and intimate. How apt for the cusp of the summer solstice. How fragrant these are, overspilling with completion ...
ReplyDeleteThank you, friend. A bit of summer to balance out the winter.
Deleteso good. and the sonnet, i really thought was Shakespeare... until you signed your name
ReplyDeleteAh, thanks friend.. let me buy you a drink for that nice comment.
DeleteCheers!
;-)
Every time I read these, I re-fall in love... especially with the the thought of embracing pollen without understanding exactly what the outcome might be--oh, the sweetness!
ReplyDeleteNo fair posting three swoon-worthy pieces that make me want to go in search for my husband and a private room!
