Restless after dark
A blackbird flies alone
Where no torch burns the shadows ~
Cupping the moon in my palm
I am the eclipse
For Sherry, after a month of poetry writing, the toads are Celebrating Ordinary Things.
I am on a break from poetry, and have turned again to my inks to illustrate a micro-poem from the Skylover archives.
See, I knew you were really a mythic Goddess with fantastic powers. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI was trying to keep it under wraps.. oh well..
DeleteSimple and indeed mystic. Well done!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Simple is the most I can do after the April marathon.
DeleteThis is gorgeous! Your illustration is incredibly beautiful, and I drank up every word of your poem. I especially love the cupping of the moon in your palm, as I did once, on a memorable evening in the long-ago.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely. Thank you, Sherry.
DeleteI do love you picture... the way you tie it to darkness to shadows is brilliant.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bjorn. I do like the interplay of light and dark.

DeleteI am just stunned at your artistic ability... You need to publish a book with your talent for poetry and these magnificent drawings/paintings... Just Wow!
ReplyDeleteMaybe one day, Margaret. I am happy to know you like the pairing.
DeleteI love your artwork, Kerry, beautiful colours, and the lines:
ReplyDelete‘Cupping the moon in my palm
I am the eclipse’.
I have had new ink for a month which I haven't had the chance to try out. This was a quick sketch! I'm glad it worked out.
DeleteWhat a beautiful painting Kerry! And the poem is simply fantastic.
ReplyDeleteYour intimate self portrait is painted with extraordinary brushstrokes. "I am the eclipse" made me sigh-Yes!
