Your waxen mask
of magnolia petals
perfumes nocturnal hours
with aqua light
as the landscape
softens at your touch ~
You keep aloof
the implacable secrets
of your alchemy
but it stirs the sleepers
in their beds
who grieve anew
the paradox of spring ~
And dawn does not dissolve
the stinging poison
tail-end of the dream.
